Corona Newsflash: Dead People Don’t Go Shopping

April 6, 2020

When shit hits the fan, people show their true colours.
And with the current Corona crisis, we’re seeing the whole rainbow and then some.

We’ve got hoarders stockpiling years worth of toilet paper, even though diarrhea is not a common symptom of Covid19. And party animals who couldn’t care less about any virus – Corona, herpes, syphilis, chlamydia…whatever, dude. They’re still going to party.

Then there are those who think this is just another flu, and can’t see what the big fuss is about. And those who refuse to look, thinking it’s all a big Government conspiracy targeting the sheeple, helped along by the lying mass media. Probably related to either 5G masts, the New World order, reptilians, making sure Trump isn’t re-elected… (insert your favourite unverified claims here, anything goes).

And last, but not least, we have those who think people matter more than money, and those who don’t.

And I’ve got news for the latter group:

Dead people don’t go shopping

Priorities, priorities…

What bothers me the most these days, are those who think we should sacrifice people to save money!

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick made headlines when he suggested that grandparents would willingly die to save the economy. Considering that he is 70 years old, he should be the first to volunteer. Just to set a good example, you know?

But I doubt that he will.

Now, however tempting this idea of elder sacrifice may sound to those who think “money first”, I have to warn you that dead people don’t go shopping. Quite literally, they wouldn’t be caught dead in a supermarket.

Dead people don’t eat, don’t go on vacation, won’t be looking for a new car, aren’t buying a house or fixing up the old one, don’t need clothes… They’re not going to spend one, single penny on anything that you want to sell them.

Unless you are an undertaker or a florist, dead people will not make you any money. Share on X

Which means it might be a better idea to save people first.
Save those who will spend their money on your products and services.
Save your customers!

You can fix ‘broke’, but you can’t fix DEAD!

Yes, we are all worried about the economy.
And rightly so.

This Corona virus is going to take its toll, not just on human life and health, but on our wallets as well. People are being laid off, businesses are going bankrupt, and most of us have entered “saving mode” with regards to our spending.

The good news is that this situation can be fixed.

If you are still alive after the Corona crisis has passed (and your customers are too) you can get back in business. Even after a bankruptcy, you may be able to start again.

I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but it is possible.

You see, broke can be fixed.
But dead…? Nope.

People are REAL, money is not

Another point worth noting, is that banks can print money. They can also introduce new currency with just a few clicks on a computer keyboard.

The money itself has no value, and in some cases it’s not even real. Money is just a symbol of value, something that we have agreed to use as a token of exchange.

People, on the other hand, are very real. They are flesh and blood human beings, with dreams and hopes. All of which love and are loved by someone.

Keep that in mind when you hear someone claiming that the economy is more important than people. That they are valuing digits over grandparents and health care workers, the imaginary over the physical.

If you wonder where the cut-off point is, how much a human life is really worth, ask yourself which amount you would trade your loved ones for. A million dollars? Ten million? Twenty? Share on X

Not an easy question to answer, is it?

Thankfully, that is not a choice you’ll have to make.
And hopefully, nobody will be making that choice for you either.
