Changing the subject may have a legitimate reason. If you need to cover a lot of subjects in a debate you could be pressed for time. Or you could just be trying to avoid losing an argument. Share on X

If you suspect that someone is trying to change the subject to avoid losing, politely remind them that ‘this is a very serious topic that deserves more attention’.
