Quora: Are people always changing?
Q: Do people change throughout their lives or do you reach a sort of permanent state?
A: People are always changing, even when they don’t realise it themselves.
The only thing that remains the same, and that causes people to say, “I’m still the same person”, is the idea of the self.
We all have an idea that “this is me”, and this idea typically does not change.
Unless of course you go through a severe identity crisis, suddenly thinking that you are Napoleon or a Swiss watch. Thankfully, that is quite rare.
