Quora: Is our brain design(ed) to create happiness?

A: Our brains are designed for so many functions. And it is also programmable.

The brain receives sensory data and translates them into such wonders as seeing colour, the smell of roses, feeling the warmth of the sun and so on.

It also produces data. It sends signals to the legs when we want to move. Creates tears when we are sad. A racing heart when startled.

With our brains we can create the future, imagine better ways of doing things, plan how to do it and lastly execute our plans.

Happiness is just one of the brain’s many possible creations.
And you can program the function:

If X (Your desire is executed) then Y (you will experience happiness)
If not X (Your desire is not executed) then not Y (You will not experience happiness)

Be mindful of what you insert in the place of X, as this will determine your overall capacity for happiness.

The smaller the request, the more likely it is to be achieved, and the greater your overall happiness will be.
